Michael, we already have dozens of new stuff coming in R2 which you can read in our updated roadmap. We'll try our best to include this new drag-drop capability in R2, however we'll still prioritize the features mentioned in the roadmap.

In the case that we don't manage to include the drag-drop capability in R2, then it'll be surely included in 2010 R1.

Hi Michael,

AFAIK, WebGrid isn't supported to be used as "native drop control" in WebDragDropExtender yet. Although it can be specified as drop control in general, WebDragDropExtender will recognize it only as a "big box" and thus doesn't give more specific details over the target object.

However, since WebGrid 7 now supports client binding and batch update, we're planning to support WebGrid as native drop control in the near future; and adds several dozens of new possibilities, such as drag-drop within Grid itself, drag-drop across Grid, drag-drop across parent-child tables, and much more.

Is there a way to find out, on which row in WebGrid the OnDragDrop-Event was fired?
