Hello Dev Ashish,

We have put huge additional changes and updates in current WebGrid and other ASP.NET lineups, which you can find in the following link: http://www.intersoftpt.com/2014.

From my testing in our live sample on exporting WebGrid, it seems that the pop up is still showing due to the default behavior of the browser.

I am facing the same issue.

This post is more than 3 years old may be there is some changes in the product to solve this issue.

Hi Soloman,

We currently don't have any method on closing the browser programmatically. It is the default behavior by the browser itself.

However, I may put this issue on feature request if you want to.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply. After saving the exported excel file , still pop up is hanging. User has to explicitly closed the pop up. Is there any other way to close the browser programatically?

Hello Soloman,

This pop up window appears from the browser by default. We could not implement any code to remove the pop up since it is generated from the browser itself.

When you export to HTML, it will open in the browser directly since the default application for html is IE or any browser. But, the default application for excel is Microsoft Excel, that's why the browser shows the pop up at first and then search for the default application.

Hi,

In web grid 7, I would to like to export the grid data to Excel. I am able to export the data by using client side script. But unnecessary Pop up(Webgrid.net - Enterprise Report) has appeared .

How can I avoid this unnecessary pop up?
