Paging is recommended to load large data in WebGrid.

We have a sample of WebGrid, ClientBinding_Paging.aspx. WebGrid supports both VirtualLoad and ClassicPaging for data paging when using ServerDataSource and client data services such as WebService, WcfService and AdoDataService. This sample shows WebGrid with classic paging which seamlessly retrieves data from Web service.

Filtering, sorting, and grouping works without problem in this sample. You can visit the live version of the sample in here.

We have a grid with over 700k objects in it. We are struggling with the best way to handle this. When we just load all the data, the grid is very slow, and paging seems to be the best way to handle this.

But if we do paging, we are losing filtering and sorting.

What is the best way to handle large scale SQl based grids?
