Enable Cross IFrame

This walkthrough shows you how to enable a panel server control to be dragable across child IFRAMEs.

During this walkthrough, you will learn how to do the following:

  • Set ASP.NET panel for drag panel and drop panel.
  • Use WebDragDropExtender to allow the drag panel dragged to drop panel.
  • Create IFrame.
  • Set panel to be dragable across child IFRAMEs.

 Prerequisites

In order to complete this walkthrough, you will need the following:

  • Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010 Application.

 Step-By-Step Instructions

To enabling a panel server control to be dragable across child IFRAMEs.

  1. Launch Visual Studio.NET 2008.
  2. Click on File menu, then select New and click Web Site.
  3. Select ASP.NET Web Site in the Template box and set Location to HTTP.
  4. Named the Web Site and click OK.
  5. Right-click on Project's name and select Add New Item.
  6. Select Intersoft AppForm in the My Templates box and named it as IFrame1.aspx.
  7. Drag WebDragDropExtender instance from ToolBar to WebForm.
  8. Drag ASP.Net panel to WebForm.



  9. Click on WebDragDropExtender instance and press F4.
  10. On DropControls property, click the (collection) button to open WebDropControl Collection Editor. You can set which panel that will be the DropControl.



  11. Right-click on Project's name and select Add New Item.
  12. Select Intersoft AppForm in the My Templates box and named it as IFrame2.aspx.
  13. Drag WebDragDropExtender instance from ToolBar to WebForm.
  14. Drag ASP.Net panel to WebForm.



  15. Click on WebDragDropExtender instance and press F4.
  16. On DropControls property, click the (collection) button to open WebDropControl Collection Editor. You can set which panel that will be the DropControl.



  17. Right-click on Project's name and select Add New Item.
  18. Select Intersoft AppForm in the My Templates box and named it as Walkthrough.aspx.
  19. Drag WebDragDropExtender instance from ToolBar to WebForm.
  20. Drag ASP.Net panel to WebForm.
  21. Create two IFrame and point them to IFrame1.aspx and IFrame2.aspx.



  22. Click on WebDragDropExtender instance and press F4.
  23. On DragControls property, click the (collection) button to open WebDragControl Collection Editor. You can set which panel that will be the DragControl and AllowCrossIFrame property to ChildIFrameOnly.



  24. Run and compile the project.
