There are two issues that customers are reporting involving the license key:
- You might receive a "Design time license key not found or not valid" error message when you try to create new instance in Visual Studio design-time.
- You could get a pop up with "Your evaluation will expire in XX day(s)" message when you try to create new instance in Visual Studio design-time.
Note: XX represents how many days left in a trial version.
The Intersoft license key is highly case-sensitive, meaning it can only consist of the exact given license key when you registering it into the License Manager. In most cases, when you copy and paste a license key from TDN to the License Manager, you will include an extra blank space after the license. You need to delete the blank space otherwise it will give you the error message.
Do the following to resolve this problem:
- Remove your license key from the License Manager
- Re-input your license key. Please double check this time that there are no extra blank spaces and that all cases are correct.
Note: You need to connect to the web to activate your license key, and to make sure that you have input the valid component version key. If a different version of the same component has a different key, it will show that the key is valid, but when you create an instance in Design-time it will show an error message.
