I am using WebGrid.net Version 7.0. I am getting an error message "Unhandled Exception:Unable to communicate with server error." after only 13 minutes of inactivity. Why would I be getting this message when our timeout is set 30 minutes?

The error is not related to timeout of session. It is related to timeout of the data access/operation and the time also can be random.
Usually the error occurs because WebGrid does not get expected response from server.The reason can be various such as disconnected to internet, server got error or server does not give result.

How do we fix this problem? It always happens after about 10 minutes on every grid we have. We do not disconnect from the internet and the comminucation with the server is good. We can refresh the grid and it works just fine.
The error only seems to happen when trying to filter after about 10 minutes when the users are on the the grid.
How many data that you are trying to filter? Maybe the response are becoming heavy because the load of data.

Only 100 rows.
After I discussed with our developer, it's true that that error only shows because WebGrid does not get expected response from server. So, is it possible for you to re ensure if there is anything wrong? or is it possible for you to send us a simple sample that replicates this issue? We need that to investigate your issue.
I can not send you a simple example, since it does not happen unless the grid is actually deployed on the internet. The only thing I can tell you is that out timeout is set at 20 min and it consistentantly happens evry time after 13 minutes of inactivity. I am able to navigate the other pages fine without getting the error.
I am sorry for the late response. My body was unwell yesterday. Btw, we need more specifics to replicate the issue. Is it possible to remote into your environment?
The only thing I can do is schedule a WebEx and conference call to show you what it's doing. If that will work let me know and what time works best. We are in Central Standard Time (Texas).
