Hi,
I have noticed a problem with the Column Action context menu under certain circumstances. This is replicated on the samples with modifications.
Open up the FirstExperience WebGrid sample and in the layout settings add the following:
Then at the top of the page right after the <asp:content ... /> tag add tghe following:
<div style="height: 260px"> </div> ' This is important to add
Then view this page in the browser. First right click on a column header to expose the context menu. It displays fine. Now hover of the column and click on the arrow on the far right to expose the column action context menu. Everything is fine. Now right-click on the column again to expose the context menu. If it is in the correct position, scroll down and try again. Scroll further down and notice that when you right click on the column the context menu is out of site and you need to scroll up to view it, but the column action context menu location is correct.
Hello,
I am hardly to replicate the issue in here. I can only see once and never able to replicate it again. Would you mind show me the step by step in video recording?
Regards,Handy
Here is a short demo showing the problem. Thios demo is using IE. There is a similar problem in the latest version of Firefox but with other elements.
Thank you for your video. I will let you know the result asap.
Any word on this problem? Still doesn't work with R2 SP1.
Hello John,
I am sorry for the late response. I am still unable to replicate the issue in here by following step by steps you told me. Did you also ever modify the master page. The sample info, should not be at bottom page. It should be at the top. Unless you have modified the master page.My browser also don't have any vertical scrollbar. I wonder what we missed from the steps. I attached the original master page and the modified FirstExprience.aspx samples based on your details. For further information, please let me know if you can replicate the issue in my sample or not. You can also let me know your current environment.
Yes I can replicate this issue using your sample.
I didn't modify the master page, the only change was to FirstExperience.aspx adding the SHowColumnAction="True" to the layout settings and adding enough space above the table that holds the webgrid so that when you run the sample you get a vertical scrollbar. If you don't see the scrollbar increase the height of the empty div until you see one. The table that holds the webgrid MUST be at the bottom of the page and not at the top. Now once you have enough space to see a scrollbar, use the scrollbar to move the top of the grid up in the page, then first click on the column action button of a column to bring up the menu, and then right click on the column header, the top of the context menu that displays is not where it is suppose to be, it is off the top.
This issue is only seen if there is a vertical scrollbar and the scrollbar is not at the top. In your FirstExpoerience sample you sent change the height of the div from 260px to 500px and try again.
<asp:Content ID="Content1" ContentPlaceHolderID="content" runat="Server"> <div style="height: 500px"> </div> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="table-layout: fixed; background-image: url(images/back_ui_3.png); width: 799px; height: 379px;"> <tr> <td style="height: 61px"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td style="padding-left: 15px; padding-top: 4px;" valign="top"> <ISWebGrid:WebGrid ID="WebGrid1" runat="server" Height="297px" UseDefaultStyle="True"
I can replicate the issue now. I will forward this issue to our developer teams. This issue only happens when there is a scrollbar at the page and WebGrid is on bottom position.
Any resolution of this issue? I'm still getting this problem with Firefox and the 2012 R1 webgrid 8 product.
It hasn't been fixed yet. If you want, I will put this in our highest priority in hotfixes next month release.
Hi Handy,
Yes please put it a high priority, this is a problem with our Firefox users.
Thanks
