I have installed Webgrid 7 Evaluation version(7.0.7200.401) in windows server 2008 R2 for checking the compatibility of Webgrid with sharepoint 2010.

I have created a page with putting grid in a file system project.When i browse the page webgrid 7 is loading fine ,

Same page if i put it in Sharepoint site then it is giving License error.

Please find the attached screenshot.

From my understanding, since Sharepoint environment is a deployment environment you will need to use RunTimeLicense key. Without RunTImeLicense key the control will be regarded as unlicensed.

In file system project the WebGrid will run because it will not need RunTimeLicense key in the development environment. Unfortunately, you will only recieve RunTimeLicense key after purchasing WebGrid 7.

I was under the impression that since i have installed the evaluation version of Webgrid 7.0.

It will take the license key.

Since we will give runtimelicensekey only in the deployment where webgrid is not installed.

To check the above Javascript error posted in this thread  only we are checking it in sharepoint environment.unforutunately we are not able to do so.

How we will make sure whether  the reported issue  is taken care in Webgrid 7.

I have discussed this issue with my superior, you will need to purchase the WebGrid 7 license in order to test WebGrid 7 webpart in SPS 2010. Currently the evaluation version will not run in the SPS environment, unlicensed control error message will be displayed.

The developer consider enhancing the control in order to allow the evaluation version to run in SPS, however I do not have any timeline when will this feature is implemented.
