I am hainvg some issues with javascript on a webcombo and webinput. When i run the project, the webgrid pulls up fine, but the page with a webcombo and webinput, get the followign error:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'XmlDt.documentElement' is null or not an object in WebCombo.js:
v8fc38 =v80438.XmlDt.documentElement;
or webinput.js:
var v9db34 =vc4a90.XmlDt.documentElement;
I am using the WebUI Studio 2009 R2 SP1. I have upgraded a project from VS2003 ASP.NET 1.1.4. I have included the following assemblies:
ISNetISNet.WebUIISNet.WebUI.ResourcesISNet.WebUI.WebComboISNet.WebUI.WebCombo.ResourcesISNet.WebUI.WebGridISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.ResourcesISNet.WebUI.WebInputISNet.WebUI.WebInput.Resources
All have the "CopyLocal" flag set to True. All the assemblies seam to be the right version.
Well,
I seem to have gotten arround this one. I needed to register SmartWebResources, this pulled in a bunch of assemblies, including several, that by name you would not think i would need, but who am i to argue withg the results so far, it started working.

Hello Tim,
You could not just upgrade the project from VS2003 into VS2008 or VS2005. Migrating from old product especially from VS2003 into VS2005 or VS2008 has many changes. Some of the old method are not compatible with .Net 2.0 or higher environment.
Regards,Handy
At this point the project is not giving me errors on the server-side (I have already caught and correct a couple) any thoughts on what might be causing the javascript to error out. I really did not want to have to scratch the whole page and start fresh.
You can let us know if you don't know how to use the code correctly in our new product. Please don't hesitate to ask us.
Hello Handy,
I wrote you about the same problem back on april 30,2010. I am still having this issue. I tried Tim's suggestion and it did not work.
I will say that I don't know if hte smartwebresources is doing anything. The ISCore is still looking to a local file.
Are there any other suggestions?
You can refer to my other post for more info. As I said back then, if I load everything on a different machine everything works fine. But this is my dev machine so I need to figure out what configuration option is causing a problem
As I said back then, this is only a problem in IE.
Thanks,
Ethan
Hi Ethan,
Yes, I understand. But as I said before, I need your help to replicate the issue in a simple runable project. We need this to investigate and analyze your issue. Without it, I could not figure out what is missing.
