No its not like that...put the jquery along with old dll of webgrid 6.0. And jquery doesnt depend on the existence of webgrid in the page. In fact the test sample was the one used by me for WebGrid testing , and for easiness i just put jquery tabs in that solution and send to you. For jquery tab to not work, it dont need WebGrid to reside in the same page . The only requirement is the existence of dll(new) along with scripts as far as i know. Do one thing, just change the dll you have used to the old ones and u can see the difference. Trust me. No need of webgrid to be in the same page. Just the dll along with the script is causing the damage. I dont know why. And why the Live chat is not working for me. I am trying it for past 5 days.
Sure...The sample is attached along with the screenshot. See if the run matches my screenshot. See the outgrowths as i marked in the jquery tab. All necessary documents are included except stylesheet..but that wont be a problem. Please run the sample with both Webgrid 7 and Webgrid 6
Hi James,
Its not. As i said, just by changing dll and javascript to old ones, the jquery tabs started working straight away. During this change i didnt change the doctype at all. So forget about doctype. It has surely something do with the update, possibly some javscript may be conflicting the working.
It worked partially. By putting the module the code works only for response.redirect. And the problem still persist for pages using server.transfer. I think you guys didnt fix that yet. Thanks for the solution. However i would appreciate if you guys could fix the problem with server.transfer. And please check my thread regarding jquery as well. As thats critical for me.
I tested using percentage widths that sum upto 100. Sorry it is not working either. In fact the cutoff is solved, but another problem still persist. That is when scrollbar comes in, it covers say a atleast 3letters. In fact scrollbar comes on top of the multiline column(it is my last column) and thereby hiding a minmum of 3 letters in each row of the column. And for dynamic build webgrid the solution is not working at all.
Unfortunately that doesnt fit to our scenario. For most of the columns there are fixed pixel width and are related to real world objects So those columns cant be altered to give percentage width. And i am only using autofitcolumns just for the support of firefox. Otherwise i would put that false and in IE it will render correctly with autofitcolumns=false. In short i cant apply full percentage width. I need a different workaround.
Well, thanks atleast am not the one using jquery tabs and found the error. Hope webgrid team would fix this soon.
Hi Handy,
Well am still using xhtml. As i told in the thread XHTML problem the xhtml problem caused the major problem of IE7 context menu disappearing. However am still using XHTML in my page as like guy in the other thread i cant remove xhtml and move to html doctype as the design of all pages break altogether. So its not a choice for me. However as my whole project is using a wrapper page(from telerik softwares) and a master page, removing the doctype completely from masterpage did the trick. However the wrapper page still use xhtml. Now the visible issues are as follows( Which am not sure if due to xhtml ). Am using the current october 2009 hotfix.
1.Multiline columns are messed up. With autofitfitcolumns=true and column widths in percentages, the multiline columns are cut off. See this thread . No one answered it for the past 7 days!!!.
2. Sorting makes columns to move to a little bit to the right side in firefox. And in all browsers all even sorting needs two clicks. Check yourself.
3. A response.redirect(or server.transfer) in the initialise postback event is not working. Was working before upgrading to Webgrid 7.
No...Someone in webgrid team told me that Webgrid 7 doesnt support XHTML. See my post and reply. And i found that right too...It all messed up using xhtml..
ContextMenu error XHTML IE7 Only.
I solved it myself. In masterpage i removed xmlns attribute from html tag. That solved the problem. I dont know why it caused the problem.
