Hello Erwin,

The hotfix attached to your last email solved the problem. The toolbar is again working properly.

In response to your question about how I am using the function discussed in our previous emails, below is a simplified scenario.

I have a toolbar with toggle buttons named 1, 2, 3.  Each button is assocaited with a respective function for loading a page, for example loadPage1(), loadPage2(), loadPage3().  The user can click button 1, 2, or 3 to load page 1, page 2 or page 3 in any sequence.  But I also want the user to be able to jump to a particular page without having to click on all buttons to find that page.  Thus, I also have a menu in the form of descriptive hyperlinks that tell the user which pages are available for loading.  So the "clickToolbar" function discussed previously, and which contains the OnClick, is attached to the hyperlinks.  Thus, clicking a hyperlink will click and toggle the corresponding toolbar button, thereby immediately loading the appropriate page desired by the user.

As mentioned above, your latest hotfix has corrected the issue, and the above scenario is working again.

Thank you.

Hello Erwin,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Unfortunately, the hotfix you posted did not work. I copied the hotfix files to the noted installation folders folders as instructed in your email; I also replaced the old dll files with the new dll files in the bin folders of my application and in your samples .  However, I could not get the toolbar to work in my application or in your samples.

Please double check this hotfix and post again.

Regards

Jean

Hello,

I have not received any reply to this inquiry, and I have not seen a fix for these issues that I first reported more than 1 year ago.

If you provided a solution for these problems and I missed it inadvertenly, please let me know where to locate such a solution. If not, then when should a fix be available?

Any update on this?

Yudi,

There are two menubars in WebMenuBarOffice2007Style.aspx.  The menubar you have clicked on in your srcreenshot has this property set to "Normal".  Please switch the MenuWindowType from "Normal" to "Popup", under MenuStyleSettings, and check this issue again.

Regards,

Jean

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

No, I am not using WebPad in my projects, as I do not want to recreate functionality that already exists in WebTextEditor.  I am referring to WebPad only to illustrate what I am talking about.

What I am suggesting is very simple.  Please see the four screenshots attached below.

On the one hand:

  • Editor-1: Editor with 5 empty sections
  •  Editor-2: Editor with text in section-1.

1.     By the time I was finished typing this text, the other four sections had disappeared from view;

2.     Also, all sections continue to expand downward concurrently with each additional keystroke (from any key on the keyboard);

3.     Furthermore, after expanding, the sections do not shrink back to the original size even if the text entered is deleted.

            4.  Finally, yes, WebTextEditor has its own vertical scrollbar, but sections do not.

So if you had large chunks of text to enter into the sections, you may have to scroll up/down a kilometer inside the editor to find and put sections into view for editing.

On the other hand:

  •  WebPad-1: pretending to be WebTextEditor with 5 sections in tab-presentation, instead of line-presentation.
  • WebPad-2: to show how all sections would remain visible in the editor for quick access, if in tab-presentation, regardless of how much content is entered into a section.

All I am asking is whether it would be possible to give us another option for showing sections in WebTextEditor, so that, when enabling sections in the editor, a user can choose, via properties, whether to work with the sections in line-presentation or in tab-presentation.

Regards

Jean

Hello,

Thank you for your reply; but I do not see any connection with what I have reported above.  My entire report is about multiple sections in a single WebTextEditor with a single WebSpellChecker

It is clear from your reply that you did not investigate how WebTextEditor and WebSpelChecker behave when the editor has sections in it. Moreover, your sample did not have a single section in it.

Please (1) enable sections in WebTextEditor, (2) Put a few sections in the editor, (3) enter text (including mispelled words) in some of the sections, and (4) review issues 1-6 listed in my original report to see how the editor and spellchecker behave (in the browsers mentioned) when sections are present.

Please review my report properly and provide relevant answers/solutions to the issues that I have reported.

Regards

Jean

Hello,

OnAfterTabChanged has resolved the toolbar issue.  Thank you.

Please let me know when you have a solution for the 2px discrepancy between the two editors in Firefox.

Jean

Hello,

Upon further testing, I found out that the problem came from the content and placement of my web.config files, and not your components.  I have since corrected, and everything is now working properly.

Thank you.
