Thank you for the feedback regarding hotfix of work item #818.

I just re-checked the hotfix or work item #818 (WebInput 4.0 build 7 and WebUI.NET Framework 3.0 build 757) using the same sample page that I submit to WebInput development team. Everything worked smoothly; the oldValue and newValue is updated in OnBeforeValueChanged client-side event of WebGrid.

I enclosed the sample file as attachment. Please kindly let us know if the problem still persists.

Hi Yudi,

I have tested the OnBeforeValueChanged and i still see all the vales old and new the same. I do not think the change was implemented in that release. Could you please confirm that. Thank you.

Yes, you are correct.

We have released the official hotfix of WebInput, version 4.0.7200.7 on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. It is recommended to update the hotfix using Intersoft Update Manager.

Thank you for the update. I used Update Manager to update componets among them was WebInput v4.0.7200.7 . Is that the same thing as you referring to: 'WebInput 4.0 build 7.' ?

I’d like inform you about the status of work item #818.

WebInput development team has managed to get the issue resolved in WebInput 4.0 build 7. I have tested the nightly build of the hotfix and found that the issue no longer persists.

Should you need to have the nightly build hotfix to be tested on your local end, please let us know.

I just got news from the team regarding work item #818.

The issue is still under investigates by the team. The team suspects that the issue may appear because the NewValue parameter is set after the input value being set.

Should the nightly build of the hotfix ready to be tested, I’ll contact you immediately.

I create a simple page to test your specific scenario on my local test.
The page only consist a WebInput. On the OnBeforeValueChanged client-side event of WebInput, the entire parameters – that deals with value and text – of the function will be showed using alert.
I’m using WebInput 4.0 build 5 and WebUI.NET Framework 3.0 build 755 in my local test. I was unable to repro your issue, but I found another issue. The issue is that the newValue parameter is never updated.
I need to confirm whether you are experiencing the same issue or not before I forwarded this to the WebInput development team.

I was able to repro the minor glitch on my local test and have forwarded it to WebInput development team. The issue is filed under work item #818.

I’ll keep you updated with any news I heard from the team regarding this work item number.

Hi,

I was going to use WebInput OnBeforeValueChanged

OnBeforeValueChanged(controlId, oldValue, oldText, newValue, newText) method to have reference to oldValue in case i want to set control back the the original. But when i run it oldValue and oldText were the same as new Values?!. Is there another way to retrive old and new value of this control?.
