Ok. But please ensure you have used the latest hotfix (WebGrid and WebUIFramework) for better result.
As far i knowed and tested, the perfomance at task manager are likely as you showed.
But it is still acceptable, i tested some scenarios and it only reach max (49-51kb).
In fact, my page did not become very slowly. It still goes smoothly.
If you browse at any website, try to compate the resources memory at task manager.
I think the rate should be no much different.

Also, please let me know your environment details. Is your computer tester virtual machine? If yes, i think the slow performance is not coming just from our site. But it could be also the session time cache or something which can affect performance at virtual machine.

When the WebGrid of the web page is operated(filter,order,and so on) some times,it takes too much computer resources, the CPU especially. And the page become very slowly.

the webgrid version is 6.0.7200.205.
