Hello Jerry,

I am sorry that I was not unclear to explain it to you.
It is getting called twice only in ClientBinding Paging scenario.
Paging needs total count before it can load the records.

Unfortunately, this is a default behaviour. That is the mechanism when using client binding. There is no other way to integrate into one.

I am using the webgrid 7 with client binding / web services. everytime the grid loads, It calls the webservice twice, first to get data , next to get total number of rows. Is there anyway to call only once and have the grid to load the data and also get the total number of rows ?

Or Is there any client side event that I can add, then programmatically set the total rows and cancel the request (selectcount request) that fetches the rows count from web services ?.

please advice. thank you.
