&lt;p&gt;Specifically, I am unable to enter DisplayMember and ValueMember in the WebCombo.NET Designer because these fileds are greyed out if you don't pick a datasource.  I skipped this step, and my column contains no values.  If I change the WebGrid column back to edittype="dropdownlist", I get data.  Is the How-to wrong or am I missing something?&lt;/p&gt;
