I will discuss what you have found with the WebGrid development team. For your information, I also found that when using XHTML 1.0 Transitional doctype, the reported row checker performance is better than the HTML 4.0 Transitional doctype.

As far as i tested it, there is some problem with GetCheckedRows() function under master page.

I have been able to find following problem on your rowchecker live demo.

1) Live demo:

http://live.intersoftpt.com/cs/WebGrid/RowCheckerColumn.aspx?path=%2fWebGrid%2fGrid+Layout+Mode&noframe=1

2)pick one row with rowchecker

3)Press „Get Checked Rows in server“ button

4)Now use rowchecker button for selecting all rows

Now rowchecker will work sluggish.

I tried to reproduce the problem in my local test by creating a simple page containing WebGrid. The grid is bind to a OrderDetails table of Northwind database which has 5 columns (totally, there are 6 columns including the row checker column) and 2155 rows.

When user clicks the “Select All” checkbox, it takes about 2 seconds to check the entire 2155 checkboxes in IE 9 browser. The sample page is enclosed as attachment.

Could you please provide more information regarding the reported problem?

How many columns and rows rendered in the grid?
Should you have different scenario about how the performance problem persist on your end, please give us the step by step guide that we can use to observe the problematic behavior.

Hi,

does anyone knows what is the problem with rowchecker performance?

When there are low number of rows in webgrid, that delays are bearable, but with any additional row that delay time grows exponentionaly.

Webgrid is bound.
