I have several columns that need to be hidden. Do I have to associate 1 hidden column per visible column only? Can multiple hidden columns be assigned to a single column?

Hi John,

Yes, we can achieve this scenario by using HiddenDataMember. Attached is a simple sample using Northwind database, in this sample, the hidden column is "Fax". However, I set this fax column as a hidden data member and attach them to "Phone" Column.

By clicking on the button, it will alert the value that contains in "Fax" column. I hope it can help you. Thank you and have a nice day.

I need to have hidden columns in the webgrid but I need to access their values. I noticed that if I set the visible value to false, I cannot access the values in Javascript.

As a work around, I set Visible to true and the width to 0. This works BUT the user can tab to the field. You can't see it but there is a little yellow bar between the column headers visible, signifying the current column focused.

Is there a way around this where the columns aren't visible but can't be accessed by tabbing through the row when editing?
