The Update Manager that shipped in original 2009 installer has an issue, which is addressed here.

The service pack doesn't install as hotfix, you need to re-download the installer as instructed in the link mentioned above and install it.

The difference between hotfix and service pack is, service pack often includes many enhancements and significant stability improvement, as well as updates to samples and documentation, while hotfix is usually provided to address reported issues.

In addition, service pack passed our comprehensive triple QA staging, while hotfix doesn't.

I run the UpdateManager, doesn't it installs also the service pack ? or must i install it in another way ?

I built a new project unter MS VS 2008 with WebUI.Studio.Net 2009 R1.

After adding a SqlDataSource and WebGrid, i can't run the WebGrid Designer.

See the attached error message.

What is wrong ?
