Open the Integrated WebGrid 7 Reference under Intersoft WebUI Studio 2009 R2 > WebUI Studio for ASP.NET > WebGrid 7.

Afterward, use the search feature with the search text "New Identity Insert" to find the article. The article should be on the top result.

In an autoincrement key value field, you will need to handle the scenario as explained on the article "New Identity Insert" in the WebGrid documentation.

Hi,

I am using the BatchUpdate update feature of WebGrid and also attaching a CustomObject to WebGrid, now when i add a new row into WebGrid the KeyFieldValue of the newly added rows starts from 0 but incase if there are already any rows fecthed from database and it has the KeyFieldValue of 1 and 2 then the AutoIncrement KeyValue doesnt recognize this and enters same KeyValue for 2 rows.

For this reason i want to handle the assignment of KeyField value to KeyField Column. Once a new row has been added i want to change the KeyValue of that row to a new KeyField value which i will calculate and give him.

On which event i can assign this KeyFieldValue also few other properties to the newly added property.

Plus what code should i write to change the assigned KeyFieldValue to my custom generated KeyFieldValue.
