The Virtual Directory (IIS) Setup is orange usually caused by a warning. Have you installed the IIS in your machine? But the IIS should not have affect on our sample, because we use FileSystem type.

About the error message, I think your machine needs a proxy setting, that's why the error message could not be sent.

Please check those issue before re-installing our products and inform us about the result.

Regards,

Lili

Javascript errors in WebGrid samples

Hi Lili,

I attempted a repair installation and got an error during the setup. I forgot that I had also gotten this error the first time I tried to install it (see attachment install_summary.png). Why is the "Virtual Directory (IIS) Setup" orange? It looks like a warning of some kind.

When I clicked "Send Error Message", I got a dialog box with a stack trace in it (see attachment error_message.png). It looks like THIS error is caused by trying to send the setup error. Is there a setup log file somewhere I can check that might show us the underlying reason the installation isn't 100% right?

There is only one step for me to reproduce the javascript problem: browse to any of the samples with FF or Chrome. Clearly there is something wrong with my installation which is what I believe we need to troubleshoot.

Thanks,

Mike

I have tried those samples in 64bit Windows 7 with Firefox4 and Chrome11. But I still couldn't replicate your issue. Does the error occur after the first load? Or is there any specific step to make the error occur? Maybe you could make a video of how you produce the error so that I could follow your step to replicate the issue on my end, because I can't replicate it here.

Regards,

AllowAdding.aspx
AllowDeleting.aspx
AllowEditing.aspx
AlphabetGroupInterval.aspx
AutomaticFilterSuggestion.aspx
AutomaticGroupFooterUpdate.aspx
Basic.aspx
BasicInteractions.aspx

I just went down the list of samples and literally every one that I tried generated the exact same javascript error, and the grid doesn't load or behave like it does in IE.

Also, I forgot to mention it in the first post: I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 pro / IIS 7.

Thanks,

Could you tell me which sample that produce that error? That would really help.

The error is: "v44b71 is null" in ISRes.axd?G/WebGrid_Core.js/707200429 line 9

Any ideas?
