But I still do not understand why can't you guys write some kind of batch file to do the steps explained in the article. It will not take more then 30 mins to write. If you write it post it to this thread, otherwise i will write one during this weekend.

-raja

Thank you for your feedback.

Could you please describe about the term “batch file” that you mention in your post?

Please let me know whether my suggestion helps or not?
Thank you. It will check for the latest available update. An update is available if the build number is newer than the existing build on the machine.

There are two ways to get hotfix files.

Using Intersoft Update Manager
Check for latest product updates and apply them automatically. Intersoft Update Manager enables you to easily obtain latest Updates for every licensed copy of Intersoft’s components with one single click and install it automatically for you.

Obtain the hotfix files from TDN then manually apply them into the development machine
You need to login to your TDN account first, and then click on “My Components” shortcut to open “My Components” WebDesktopWindow. After the window opened, click “HotFix”; select particular component; and then select build number of the selected product on the right pane to download its hotfix file.

I suggest you to use the second option to get specific build number of hotfix files.

Ps: please follow the steps shown in the following link carefully, http://support.intersoftpt.com/KBArticle.aspx?aid=251, in order to manually apply the hotfix file.

Update Manager Issue - Urgent

We use ISNet.WebUI.UpdateManager.exe to install any patches for any of the Intersoft products.

Here is the issue we are facing,

We are a development team of 30+ people and we have Sitewide Enterprise license for "Intersoft WebUI Studio.NET 2008 R2".

Whenever we install a new patch build (say for e.g. buid # 615) we send out an email for all developers to install the patch. If everyone does that within a day or two then no problem.

But, if for some reason, if someone does not install the patch and he/she tries to install the patch after a month, he/she may get a completely new build (say build #616). This is because using update manager we can;t pick and choose with build we want to install. It always installs the latest.

It looks like all it is doing is, dowinloading the latest patch, clearing the GAC, deleting old Dlls, coping the new dlls and scripts to proper locations and installing it to GAC.

Can you give us some kind of utility (or even batch file) to install patches that are alraedy downloaded. (rather than forcing the developer to download every single time)

This will help us a lot and this will ensure we all will have same build.

Thanks
