Hi Jimmy,

Looks we will support that function in the future version of Crosslight, we aim to implement this by allowing user to Bind specific properties rather on form metadata but inside BindingProvider to specific properties.

Yes, that's how we need it to be or something similar. Because the maximum length for most of the entries depend on each setting that are configured for each row.

If i know wrong, what you want is to add is binding to form properties for example like this:

[Editor(EditorType.TextView)]
[StringInput(Placeholder = "iPad 4 Mini, 64GB", MaxLength = Items.FieldLength , AutoResize = true)]
public static string Description;

Is this what you want to achieve? If yes i'm afraid this is not yet supported, however if this is really crucial to your project, i can pass your request to our developer

In relation to this topic, how can we use StringInputAttribute to bind a MaxLength to a field instead of using a pre-defined value? We need to limit the number of character inputs based on the settings of a record or a row (e.g. MaxLength field). Please advise.

We have recently released Crosslight 2 Update 3 which includes the enhancement to limit characters on the StringInputAttribute class. Please click here to read the official release notes.

To apply this update, you are required to re-install Crosslight using the latest installer (Intersoft Studio 2014 Service Pack 1) which you can download here.

Hi Guys,

Am not sure if this is already documented, but is there a property that we can set to limit the characters entered on a TextField or TextView using the form builder? Can you please provide the link to this, if any. Otherwise, please let us know how.
