Navigation Problems when Authentication is Enabled on a UXPage

Problem:

I'm having navigation issues to a secure page using the Outlook Navigation template. Whenever I click on a UXPage where authentication and a role is required the navigation pane freezes up.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

Save and extract ClientUINavApp1.ZIP file.
Open project in VS 2010 and run sample app (you might have to fix up references to RIA services)
Enter any value for the login user ID and Password, click login (I've set the login to accept any userid/pswd for testing purposes)
The default page loads with "Office.xap: Home.xaml" in the UXFrame.
Click "Client Mangement" NavigationPaneItem
Click "Files" NavigationButtonItem.
You get an error "Unable to navigate...." - which is expected. But the application locks up.

Project layout:

ClientUINavApp1 is main application
The project includes 2 external apps Office.xap and Client.xap
This goal of this project is to test navigation between UXPages in external xaps.
