My colleague, Arief, has managed to create a prototype which allows you to print WebGrid data. Please kindly check his response on this thread and let us know whether it helps or not.

I have seen your print features in Webgrid as you mentonied in your above post.

but this is not printing the complete webgrid data as I expected.

I'd like to inform you that WebGrid development team has implemented the Print feature. The AllowPrint.aspx sample (click here to test the live version) demonstrates the print feature in WebGrid.

Please give it a try and let us hear your response.

Hi Bernard,

There are two scenarios -

a) My user base is very excel-oriented. So, they dont want to export and print the data. They are very picky about directly printing the data from the grid. :(

b) I have some functionalities that creates labels in the grid with data and bar-code. If you export it as excel or PDF, the printer ll not read it properly because of the width and height issues. I can fix them in the grid and ask the users to print directly from the grid.

But I have some work-around as of now. Its a request to kindly consider implementing grid print functionality.

Hi Udayan,

To print WebGrid layout, you only can use print function at the browser. Currently, WebGrid doesn't have print functionality.

But if you want to print the content, you need to use export feature before you print.

Hello,

Is there a work around to print only the grid and the data without exporting the data as excel/pdf? I am in need to have a menu-option of print from within the grid that prints the grid.
