The self reference load on demand sample has been provided in WebGrid tutorial SelfReference_LoadOnDemand.aspx and the paging load on demand sample in the WebGrid sample VirtualLoadwithCustomLoadonDemand.aspx, the sample demonstrate load on demand virtual page, however it should be similar with classic paging.

Making Page load efficient

Hi Glenn,

I can see that it works fast with few data. But when I am using 10s of thousands of data rows, the time taken seems to increase exponentially.

Solutions to this would be appreciated.

Thanx!

Making Page load efficient

As shown in the article Faster than “fastest ASP.NET Grid” and Faster than “fastest ASP.NET Grid” – Part II
WebGrid could handle large data using Paging and LoadOnDemand. In my new project, I'm trying to use the selfreference feature while binding the grid with data.

The webgrid tutorial provided by Intersoft has shown how to use it but has only used few rows of data. It works fine with those few data.

My project scenario is, I have to use the grid with more than 30,000 rows of data. Currently I'm testing with half of it and the page loads after long looooong time.

Does it handle such a large amount of data?

Is there a way to make my page load efficient?

Can we just provide data to load the first page only and when we paginate, provide data for that page and so on.....

Please help me on this!

Thanx!!!!
