It can replace Ajax Update Panel control.
Currently, you can refresh WebGrid via server side button.
In our WebDesktop sample (WebDesktop\WebFlyPostBackManagerAJAXoverIntersoftControl.aspx), it will show you how to do it.

The sample doesn't use a button to trigger postback, but it has WebCombo which trigger postback. By using WebFlyPostbackManager, it can avoid postback action smoothly like UpdatePanel.
Hope this helps.

Regards,
Handy

How to avoid postback in WebGrid withough using Microsoft Ajax update panel ?

We are using Webgrid 7 in SharePoint web part where we are rendering the grid programaticallyl. On click of a server side button control we are retrieving data from data source and binding the grid again to this newly retrieved data source.

To avoid full post back we have put the entire grid control inside ajax update panle but after doing soe certain web grid predefined javascripts are not working and top of that we are experiencing very slow performance.

Does WebFlyoutPostBackManager is of some use in this scenario ? I am not aware of how to use that programatically. Can somebody help me with a small sample example where WebGrid is bound to data source on click of server side button and the web grid data is refreshed asynchronously ?

Thank you.
