Still the reported problem is not reproducible.

I enclose a video (as attachment) which shows how the test run on my test PC. Should you find anything that I might miss in order to reproduce the problem, please feel free to let me know.

Note: this is the screenshot showing IE 11 version on my test PC.

I attached the test you sent me with stacked columns. If you run it and wait about a minute you will see the Long Running Script error pop up in IE 11 on Windows 10.

Thanks,

Aaron

Windows 10 - IE 11 - Long Running Script Error

Based on your information, I made a simple test against WebGrid live sample in IE 11 run on Windows 10. The steps shown below:

Test loading WebGrid page using Compatibility View.

Open IE 11 in Windows 10.

Navigate to WebGrid's unbound hierarchical live sample.

The page is loaded with Compatibility View off. Result: the reported problem: infinite loop in the grid indicating a "Long Running Script", is not reproducible.

Enable Compatibility View by adding the website to the Compatibility View list.

The page is re-rendered with Compatibility View on. Result: the reported problem: infinite loop in the grid indicating a "Long Running Script", is not reproducible.

It is recommended to avoid viewing the page in compatibility view because it's IE specific stuff. The tools basically render the pages based on the specified document type. However, the compatibility mode causes the rendering to use old browser mode.

I enclose my simple sample as attachment. Please have the attached sample evaluated on your end and let me know the result. Should you find anything that I might miss during my attempt to reproduce the problem, please feel free to let me know.

Windows 10 - IE 11 - Long Running Script Error

In IE 11 on Windows 10 we are experiencing some kind of infinite loop in the Web Grid. We get an error at the bottom of the page indicating a "Long Running Script" is preventing interaction with the page. It disappears when we turn off Compatability View, but the page layout is rearranged. We need a way to keep the layout of the page and prevent this error.

Thanks in advance,

Aaron
